Learn How to Re-energise Internally

How to Re-Energise Internally

Do you ever get that feeling as though you’ve become a deflated balloon? As if without noticing and slowly over time, you’ve shrivelled into a smaller, less vibrant version of yourself. It’s not as though you’re stressed, depressed or even anxious. We’re not talking about those things. Rather, it’s just your own energy that needs re-igniting. Typically we all have our own way of re-energising, but if you’re out of ideas, or you’re just looking for something new, why not try the following methods?

Pick Up a Good Book

A good book can give you a new perspective, or provide the escapism you need to start feeling fresh again. Even if you’re not much of a reader, it’s surprising just how re-energising a gripping novel can be. Try to avoid reading it on an electronic device such as a kindle. Instead, opt for a good old-fashioned paper copy.

Take a Day Trip By Yourself

Introverts especially, draw energy from being alone with their thoughts and feelings, working on themselves independently. Why not visit your favourite place and take a full day away by yourself? Away from responsibilities, away from the day-to-day norm. It sounds so simple, yet could have dramatic results.

Change Your Diet

Sometimes lifestyle changes such as a healthier diet or a regular exercise plan can do wonders for your state of mind. Anyone who has ever stuck to a healthy meal regime will know that feeling; as though they’ve been given a new lease on life. So why then do we rarely think about changing these things when we need to re-energise?

Try A Technology Detox

You’ve heard of a food detox or an alcohol detox, but what about tech? The modern world we live in can be draining, more draining than we perhaps realise. Social media can result in constant comparison between other people. Too much television can cause us to become detached, as does our constant reliance on electronics in general. Unplug and switch off, for as long as you can. Start with no electronics past 7pm and then try to go a whole day, or even a whole weekend!

Spend Time With Your Best Friends

If you’re more of an extrovert you re-energise from being around others. Not everyone wants to escape and be alone. In fact, this could be the reason you’re feeling the way you do! Everyone of us is different, so do what works for you. Plan a trip with friends or just meet up for a coffee. A good chat can set the world to rights and in the process set yourself right too.

Do Something Self-less

It’s incredible what a self-less act does for us on an internal level. Try going out of your way to do something nice for a neighbour, family member or friend. It could be as simple as offering to help with the housework, or running an errand for them. Don’t wait to be asked for favours, offer them up regularly and you could start to feel re-vitalised in no time!

Look after your mind and soul as well as your body. You’ll draw strength from it in times of need if you listen to what it’s telling you and make time to heal when it’s required.
